My Writing Goals for 2026

Happy New Years!!

I always have trouble when one year ends and another begins.

What do you mean 365 full days have already passed 😱

It always seems like it was just New Years and now it’s happening again. šŸ˜‚

But that’s the way time works. There’s a reason the Psalmist asked God to teach him to number his days.

So, 2026 is here and it’s time to make some goals. But I don’t look at my yearly goals as something set it stone. They’re more like guidelines than actual rules. 🤭 A rough draft for the upcoming year, if you will.

I’m trying to keep my goals simple and follow the main rule for

So, without further ado, here are my writing goals for 2026:

  • Finish a story for the Ye Olde Dragon Books Jack In the Bean stalk anthology and submit it for consideration

  • Enter my last YODB short story in the Realm Awards

  • Work at least one hour a week on my non-fiction book project (currently a secret project šŸ˜)

  • Starting Febuary, prioritize my sci fi novel (I will be starting a brand new rough draft for this one using my old draft as inspiration but using the new techniques I've learned over the last two years)

  • Brainstorm ideas for the YODB Mummy anthology to see if God has any inspiration for me and if He wants me to submit to it

I am trying to keep my goals simple this year and prioritize the things that will get me to my dreams with the most efficiency. But I am also praying for God to make His will clear and leaving myself open to changes He want to make.

So, there are my goals for 2026. Do you have any big writing goals for this new year?

May God bless your efforts and bring you all success according to His will.

Till next time,

Lindsi
